Find Your Magic...

Find Your Magic...

We all have those times when we forget who we are.  We forget our own essence…what makes us ‘US’.  We lose touch with the magic inside that reaches others and we feel lost.  When we lose touch with the spark that sets us apart we are certain that nothing will ever work right again; nothing special will ever become of our lives and the talent, gifts or extraordinary person we thought we were or ‘might become’ has to be a figment of our imagination.  The thing is…the good news…is that we could never have lost it if we didn’t have it in the first place.  So it’s simple really: go back and find it.  There is a zone we find; a flow where we ease into ourselves. This place, this amazing, gentle, easy place that makes our life feel like its clicked into place is your ‘truth of being’.  When we are operating from this place we know we are exactly where we are supposed to be. There is no struggle, no resistance; only flow of creativity, joy and expansion of spirit.  It doesn’t even matter if anyone else ‘gets it’…we know.  It’s our place…we know it in our bones.  But usually, others do ‘get it’ because when we create from the zone we most genuinely exude the self and with that comes an openness and compassion that attracts others to us in an equally genuine way.  So if you are feeling lost and wondering where your best self is…go back and remember the times when you connected with others through your most brilliant moments of creativity.  What parts of you reached which parts of them? What part of you opened up to allow authentic creative output? What part of you now needs to step aside to allow your vulnerability room to show itself? What are you crying out to express?  But before you do any of that, and most importantly, close your eyes, breathe deeply, become as still as possible and allow your mind to drift back to a time and place where you were allowed to be yourself; your silly, playful, honest, stand on your head, ‘shittiest grin cuz you’re so happy’ self.  Connect with that.  Then open your eyes and get back out in the world and show ‘em what you’ve got - because in this whole wide, convoluted world, only you’ve got what you’ve got and if you keep it to yourself…well damn, that would be just be selfish!
